Youth & Education Mental Health
The training workshops have been designed to help provide staff with the knowledge and skills to increase their confidence in dealing with their children and young people’s mental health needs.
Mental Health Awareness – Working with Children/Young People
This course gives an introduction to what is mental health? How has the pandemic impacted? We will analyse protective and risk factors that influence our well-being.
Discuss stigma, discrimination and the impact of these on our ability to manage our mental health.
Finally defining the Mental Health Continuum, demonstrating how if we normalize day-to-day dialogue concerning mental health. We can intervene at an early stage to help prevent long-term problems.
Emotional Literacy & Regulation
This course teaches what we mean by emotional literacy and regulation Emotional regulation skills increasingly enable children to calm down when upset, angry or overexcited, and to use language to communicate feelings and avoid emotional outbursts.
The course teaches the importance of children learning about self awareness which helps children to be reflective and think about their actions and behavior, as well as to step back and consider what others in their environment are experiencing. Self-awareness facilitates the capacity to learn from one’s mistakes, accept criticism, and listen to and understand the feelings of others.
The course teaches practitioners how to model SEL skills In relationships.
Staff Wellbeing Toolkit
This course teaches what we mean by well-being. The power of the negativity bias and how we can remodel the brain through replacing maladaptive coping strategies with effective positive action,
The course covers positive psychology and mindfulness.
It also incorporates how to successfully implement -Wellness Recovery Action plans
Training in Emotional Coaching
Emotion Coaching is based on the principle that nurturing and emotionally supportive relationships provide optimal contexts for the promotion of children’s outcomes and resilience.
